QHSE

Scanseis HSE and QUALITY systems are in compliance with ISO 9001:2008 and ISO 14001:2004 and with all HSE requirements from OGP and IAGC.

The HSE Management System (HSEMS) of ScanSeis Consulting Group AS (ScanSeis) is designed to ensure that all company operations are conducted in as low a risk environment as possible. The system provides guidance and procedures for managers conducting operations or managing sites so that the work undertaken under their control is as safe and environmentally benign as possible.

In order for the HSEMS to be actively managed for good results, two key issues must be addressed by managers:

Minimising the opportunity for mistakes means designing out the risks where work is conducted. This may be achieved either by eliminating or guarding against hazards and providing the procedures, training and personal equipment to minimise the opportunity for people to get things wrong or to be hurt when they do.

Once the opportunities for mistakes have been minimised, managers need to provide the leadership and guidance to influence people's behaviour so they are motivated to follow the systems and procedures provided because they recognise the importance of safety and good environmental performance.

This manual provides a full description of ScanSeis's HSEMS. ScanSeis firmly believes that good HSE performance is integral to the quality of its services, and that HSE performance is as important a measure of quality as any technical, financial or other aspect of those products.

ScanSeis further believes that high quality, safety, healthy and environmentally friendly operations can be achieved through the pro-active management of risk. The purpose of the HSE MS is to provide a system for continuously identifying and controlling hazards and risks which may arise through any aspect of the company's operations.

ScanSeis addresses HSE issues at three levels:

  1. Corporate, where an overall structure for management and monitoring is provided;
  2. Project, where individual projects are managed via Project HSE Plans;
  3. Workplace, where detailed procedures describe the implementation of work activities.

This manual provides an overview of how the HSEMS works. The system is implemented in detail via Management Procedures (MP), which are provided separately.

Because of the structure of the company, the system requires the co-operation of all contractors engaged in, or in support of, such operations. This HSEMS is not designed to replace such contractors own systems, but to provide a structure for managing HSE matters on shared activities when they occur. This system is designed to link with client and other HSE management systems, and ScanSeis recognises the importance of interfacing with such systems in a manner which provides a seamless structure for managing individual projects.

The Quality System of ScanSeis meets the requirements of international standard, ISO 9001:2008.

Our quality system is divided into eight sections that correlate to the Quality Management System sections of ISO 9001:2008. Each section begins with a policy statement expressing ScanSeis's obligation to implement the basic requirements of the referenced Quality Management System section. Each policy statement is followed by specific information pertaining to the procedures that describe the methods used to implement the necessary requirements.

Our manual describes the Quality Management System, delineates authorities, inter relationships and responsibilities of the personnel responsible for performing within the system. The manual also provides procedures or references for all activities comprising the Quality Management System to ensure compliance to the necessary requirements of the standard.

The manual is used internally to guide the company's employees through the various requirements of the ISO standard that must be met and maintained in order to ensure customer satisfaction, continuous improvement and provide the necessary instructions that create an empowered work force.

The manual is used externally to introduce our Quality Management System to our customers and other external organizations or individuals. The manual is used to familiarize them with the controls that have been implemented and to assure them that the integrity of the Quality Management System is maintained and focused on customer satisfaction and continuous improvement.
